[mrtg] MRTG What should I monitor?

MRTG 1st timer here.

What are you guys monitoring on your Ethernet Switches/routers.
just straight in/out Octets every 5 minutes or
are you polling the 5 minute averages on the routers

Do you monitor collisions?
