I replied directly to Paul, but figured I would tell all you MRTGroupies how
to find out this information. Remember, this is specific to Paul's OID, so
substitute your own OID if you need this type of information!!

<findmib>
Go to www.mibcentral.com, choose Search, input 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.10.1, select
Match All Words. You should then come up with the MIB.

	Voila!! MIB name: CISCO-FLASH-MIB-V1SMI.my

Then I scrolled down, and found the EXACT OID (that Paul wanted to know
about-.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.10.1.1.1.0), and clicked the hyperlink, and got

ciscoFlashDevicesSupported OBJECT-TYPE
-- 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.10.1.1.1.0
-- iso(1). org(3). dod(6). internet(1). private(4). enterprises(1).
cisco(9). ciscoMgmt(9). ciscoFlashMIB(10). ciscoFlashMIBObjects(1).
ciscoFlashDevice(1). ciscoFlashDevicesSupported(1). 0
  SYNTAX  Integer32 ( 1..32 )
  MAX-ACCESS  read-only
  DESCRIPTION
  "Number of Flash devices supported by the system.
If the system does not support any Flash devices, this
MIB will not be loaded on that system. The value of this
object will therefore be atleast 1.
"
::= { ciscoFlashDevice 1  }

</findmib>

As you can see, you get the MIB name, and the textual representation for
your OID mapping pleasure!

Later!

Garth

Subject: [mrtg] snmp oid question

Good day everyone,

I was wondering for those of you that walk MIB trees frequently, when you
come across a situation like so:

# snmpget x.x.x.x public .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.10.1.1.1.0
enterprises.9.9.10.1.1.1.0 = 3
How do I find out what the missing english-style translation is?

I realize that I'm getting this back because I have some of the MIBs, but
not all. I'm missing the ones that define the .9, then .9, then .10, etc.
How do I find what MIB defines these subgroups?

If this isn't clear, PLMK.

Thanks for any help,

Paul
