Hi

Is there a howto on obtaining OID's for different equipment, or how to "create" your own, ex. for monitoring a mailqueue on a Unix-server?

I'd like to monitor several devices, such as APC-UPS's, Extreme Networks Switches, mail-queues on a FreeBSD-server, etc. I've been playing around with a MIB-browser and there MIB's, but I havn't had much luck finding any working OID's. I've used snmpwalk(unix), snmpget(unix) and MG-soft's MIB-Browser.

So I (and probably a lot others) would appreciate a little how-to on, ex. How .1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.1.1.8.0 translates into the temperature of a Extreme Networks Summit48.

Best regards
