[rrd-users] Re: Spikes Again

I tried removing the values before and after the spike but to no avail, it
simple persists in staying there. I had another spike this morning at 6am,
and I was successful in removing that spike, just for some reason, I am
unable to fix the one from yesterday.

If a RRD is missing some values for say a 5minute aggregate, does the
graphing function take the values from the 30 minute averages to fill in the
gaps? Maybe I have to remove them also.

Some times killspike will not help. You can try the following:

Use rrdtool dump the *.rrd file to a .xml file and then edit the xml file to
find the spike and make the value smaller or delete it. Later using rrdtool
restore you can get the back the original *.rrd . This may help you.

Hey all,

I am trying to remove some spikes from some graphs that have failed today.
There is about half an hour of NaN records, which cause an 80mbit spike.
When I remove the NaN's nothing happens, and even if I remove the surround
ten lines, before and after, nothing happens to improve the graph spikes.

Killspike gives me ..

perl killspike.pl
Found 2 datasources
Malformed input at killspike.pl line 73, <IN> line 44.

Thanks in advance.

-Ryan
