Shouldn't there be a default webpage for smokeping?

I am unable to bring that up.

I don't know if anyone here has integrated SP into Cacti, but I certainly
know nothing about Cacti - and if you need help with Cacti, I'd ask on the
list/forum for Cacti, not here.

Further, with the detail you've given, I couldn't actually figure out what
you're doing or where things go wrong.

Is this a question about Smokeping or Cacti.
If SP, then:
What packages did you install and what versions were they?
What command are you trying to run?
Have you looked at the apache logs to see what they say?
The CGI script should be installed as part of the smokeping package, so I'm
not sure what you mean when you say no smokeping.cgi is ever created.
It's not "created" - it's installed with the smokeping package.

So, I'll need a lot more detail to even have a prayer of helping - but
again, if this is about Cacti or Cacti integration - ask there.

Using CentOS with the latest/stable of everything, I follow this

ever created
