sure this is just an example ... I have somthing truely generic in
mind ... which does not impose undue restrictions nor fix itself
to snmp ...

your config file looks quite complex to me ... I get the impression
that I would not want to write something like it by hand ... doing
it through a program as you do should be fine ...

you are a step further than what I am looking at at the moment ...
what you are doing would be an application of mrtg3 or sort of ... 

make sure you subscribe to the mrtg-developers list so that we can
keep in touch about this ...
