[mrtg-developers] Average calculations

Hi,

I'm trying to calculate the average in and out from a MRTG log file in a
given month, but the results always differ from those MRTG presents in the
graph page. I noticed that the log maintains 600 entries for each interval
used (300,1800,7200), except for 86400 that has 730 entries (2 years).
I've tried various algorithms but the result never match.
Can someone give me a hand on this stuff?
