hi all,
i am developing a module using mrtg that needs to save the log file and other router related information REMOTELY in xml format.. if i convert the current log file into xml and then send . every five minutes .. then  the network traffic .. counts to .. minimum of almost 1MB per fiveminutes .. and that involves to much of redundancy of data ( log file has only current values and boundary values changed )
so what i need is to send the current values remotely and then create the log file at the remote end .. so i need to know the calculation done during the creation of log file .. ( i dont think all values have to be recalculated .. just the values at the boundary of various time intervals .. and 
also the number of entries for each time interval ..

any help in this regard is highly appreciable.
