MRTG relies heavily on the real time clock of your computer. If the time is
set to a wrong value, especially if it is advanced far into the future,
this will cause mrtg to expire all lots of supoedly old data from the log files.

To prevent this, you can add a 'reasonability' check by specifying a maximum age for log files.
If a file seems to be older, mrtg will not touch it, giving you a chance to investigate the cause.

Example:

 MaxAge: 7200

The example above will make mrtg refuse to update log files older than 2 hours (7200 seconds).
