[mrtg] MRTG uses DNS lookups to run?

Greetings,

I'm using MRTG 2.7.5 with Linux 5.2, kernel 2.2.7, and IP Chains 1.3.9
to query some routers on my WAN.  Every time MRTG runs I get a bunch of
out-going DNS queries (in my firewall logs) from the Linux box MRTG runs
on.  Although this is not a problem is it necessary for MRTG to do DNS
lookups for SNMP queries?  Just curious.
