[mrtg] Graphing archived data?

This may seem like a silly question, but suppose I have an archive
of old *.log files for MRTG together with the relevant .cfg.  Has
anyone played around with re-creating the plots as they would have
been at the time that the archive was cut?

This seems like a matter of re-running MRTG with a manual setting of
the date/time instead of getting it from the real time clock.  I don't
doubt that it's feasible to do this; after all, we have the source
code ;-).  I was just wondering if anyone's actually tried it.
