[mrtg] question about .log

hi

I wanto be able to put some stuff into graphs using mrtg.
I have one number (generated by a bash script(or perl script) every 5 minutes) that I wanna monitor.
Anyone any idea how I create a logfile wich I can use with mrtg ?
