I am sorry I thought that MRTG had a hard coded 5 minute interval minimum
and that buy simply resetting the cron to any thing less than 5 minutes
would not work! maybe what was in a older version?!?!?

I can't remember but it was quite some time ago that I tried to reset the
cron to have MRTG run faster. The log files Time/Date stamps would only
change on the 5 minute interval and not on the newly set 2 minute interval.
Has this changed since MRTG 2.7.2
because that is the version that I have upgraded from

Thank for the help Bob Tralfaz

All you have to do is set the cron job to less than 5 minutes like 2
minutes is good for DSL line!!
