Ok.  I made sure it was able to see a math.h in /usr/include.  No change.
My operating system is 10.20 hp-ux and here is the gd Makefile and the error
is just as below.

I could be wrong on this but I believe the linker can't find functions
it needs to find.  Both would be defined in the math library (-lm).

Sometimes it helps to alter that particular line in the make script.

If you mention what OS you use (SCO?) perhaps more people can help?
