This sounds like cdp, you could try turning it off and
see if it goes away.
its how cisco's know how they are connected to their siblings,
for example:
Alpha-Switch>sh cdp nei
Capability Codes: R - Router, T - Trans Bridge, B - Source Route Bridge
S - Switch, H - Host, I - IGMP, r - Repeater
Device ID Local Intrfce Holdtme Capability Platform Port ID
kilo Fas 0/2 132 R 2500 Eth 0
