Hi:
I use mrtg to monitor every port on the switch. [Cat 5500]. I use
cfgmaker to prepare mrtg.cfg. I was wondering how cfgmaker gets
the ifIndex numbers. I am asking this because cfgmaker adds
targets that are not present at all. It finds ifIndex numbers which
I cannot find when I do "sh po ifindex" on the switch. Also, this
section of target is not commented out as unreachable.
Because of this, mrtg tries to get information for this ifIndex
and gets unreachable errors. I could reduce the run-time greatly
if I could fix this issue.
A typical error:
SNMP Error:
Received SNMP response with error code
error status: noSuchName
index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.324)
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "xxxxx" [a.b.c.d].161
community: "public"
request ID: 681840737
PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
timeout: 2s
retries: 5
backoff: 1)
SNMPGET Problem for ifInOctets.324 ifOutOctets.324 sysUptime sysName
ifDescr.324 on public at xxxxx
SNMPGET: Failed to reach target: "324:public at xxxxx". I tried multiple
times! public at xxxxx
Thanks,
