[mrtg] Network Load on a simple Linux Box

Hi there!
If this question was asked some time ago, please don't blame me. This is my
first post to this list.
Now to my problem: When I downloaded MRTG I planed to use is to graph the
network load of
my gateway. I looked around in the contrib dir but there was no script like
'count all traffic on all devices
and report that to MRTG'.
In /proc/net/dev there is some sort of summary - now I wanted to aks the
mailinglist if there is some sort
of script anywhere availabe ?
