Bill,

I am not positive why you are having this problem. I am also fairly new to
this as well - could explain it. I have successfully compiled on Red Hat
and Solaris 2.6 but might want to step aside to the more experienced in this
group.

I remember that I had to spend extra time reviewing the compilation of "gd"
with "zlib", "xpm", and "libpng". I had to go through the Makefile for gd
manually with a text editor (my preference is vi but emacs is also
available) and follow the directions in the file. You may have already done
this. I had to go back over it a couple times to get my paths right for the
"include" and "lib" directories.

Normally it will tell you it couldn't find *.h, *.a or *.so files if you
have the paths wrong - but it may be worth checking anyway.

Again, you may have already seen this but check out this page
http://www.develnet.es/~david/papers/snmp/

Until I have more experience with it - that's all I got =)

Chris

I tried compiling libpng directly, but it still does not work...I do not
know
what could be wrong since I am following the instructions...it would be nice
to know where the thing is broken at exactly...any one have any ideas?
