The cfg I'm using, I've abbreviated in an effort to narrow down the cause of
the above error message.  I'm currently using MRTG 2.8.11 on an NT Server
with SP5 installed.  My cfg is as follows:

Actually, the following may be more telling...  I just tried to run cfgmaker
against public at 172.16.54.49 in an effort to create a new base cfg file and
received the following error:

This looks as if MRTG isn't able to even collect the System Description,
Location, etc. from this machine.  Maybe I need to re-install the service
pack?  Similar to Rick, I wasn't able to originally install the MIBs and had
to modify (i.e. remove) certain MIBs for products that weren't installed on
my machine before the install would complete...

I've got to say though, that MRTG is an excellent program and this is the
first real insurrmountable problem I've come up against.

Rick,

First off you shouldn't have absolute as an option.  This counter does not
reset to zero after you read it (as far as I know).

Secondly, for the Background tag you have #9090909, one too many
characters. (I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I found
this to be a mistake in the documentation too v2.8.6).  Also v2.8.6 doesn't
let you define IconDir the way you have it, I don't know the version you
are using.

Thirdly I see nothing wrong with your Target definition, as a matter of
fact I use the exact same one, check it out:

Target[ntwapA.mem]:1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.1.2.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1
.1.1.0:public at 151.171.51.113 

My only suggestions is to try and change the hostname to the IP of the NT
server, see if that makes it work.  Otherwise I'm out of suggestions.

Input from others is certainly welcome.
