[mrtg] A small question about PERL (related)

Howdy all.

Not being the world's greatest PERL programmer (I'll keep my day job,
thanks!), I was wondering ...

Can you SET an environment variable from within a PERL script?

I know you can import and tie, but I want to go the other way.
