[mrtg] 'Failed to reach Target' email

I am monitoring the interface on a piece of equipment that is not up all the
time (it's down more than it is up).  Is there a way to tell MRTG that if it
can't reach a specific Target to immediately assume the values are zero
(Unknaszero works, but doesn't update the graph until the device comes back
up).  I also don't need an email for 'Failed to reach Target'.  Can this be
turned off as well?
