That is probably a task for RRDTool.. you could pull data out of the
database at daily intervals and work out the rate of change of the data,
and from that extrapolate a graph showing the future estimated growth
(with a few nice scripts of course).. the advantage being RRDTool gives
you access to the data in a more meaningful way that MRTG, and in an
easier way to manipulate

of course that doesn't help with MRTG but hey, that's life...
