Mostly true. However, if you poll the device more often than every
5 minutes, you will have other values for avg. and for max.
This will also happen if you don't sample on five-minute boundaries.
View the MRTG source and search for "day". You'll see that the daily
graph is created with option "i" (amongst others) and the other graphs
are created with either "p" or "i".
Try changing that daily "i" into "p", I wouldn't be surprised if that
is all there is to it. If it works, just alter the part that creates
the daily graphs and make it similar to those parts that create the
other graphs.
