Paul,
You would be looking at inserting the initial portion of the OID string first.
>From browsing around quickly, Novell's portion should be
1.3.6.1.4.1.23.x.x.x.x.x
For e.g. NOVELL 4.11 system OID, is referred to as 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.1.6.4.11
You're request may be 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.X.X.25.2.3.1.6.6
or
You're request may be 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.X.25.2.3.1.6.6
You would have to use the snmpwalk/get to identify the correct string.

John

Subject: [mrtg] OID problem
Size: 5 Kb
Hi all,
I am still stumped as to what MRTG is having trouble getting stats from my
Netware server. The latest problem is that when I type this at the command
prompt, it works:
snmpget 10.18.1.25 public 25.2.3.1.6.6
I get the result:
host.hrStorage.hrStorageTable.hrStorageEntry.hrStorageUsed.6 = 29147136
and
snmpget 10.18.1.25 public 25.2.3.1.5.6
I get the result
host.hrStorage.hrStorageTable.hrStorageEntry.hrStorageSize.6 = 439504896
The are exactly the numbers I would expect. They are correct.
So, I put this OID in my config file like this:
Target[10.18.1.25]: 25.2.3.1.6.6&25.2.3.1.5.6:public at 10.18.1.25
And I run mrtg from the command line, I get this error:
cannot encode Object ID 25.2.3.1.6.6: first subid too big in Object ID 25.2.3.1.
6.6 at /usr/local/bin/mrtg-2.8.11/run//SNMP_util.pm line 958.
SNMPGET: Failed to reach target: "25.2.3.1.6.6&25.2.3.1.5.6:public at 10.18.1.25".
I tried multiple times!
What the heck is happening?
Thanks,
Paul
