Did you try... 

show port ifIndex 

That gave me the Index numbers for each port, and yes.. my list went 
from board 1->2->5->6->7->3->4->8  I am not sure what the heck is up 
with that.

Now this is as far as I have gotten to. I have an incident open with 
Cisco's TAC center under my work account, I should have an answer 
Monday with how to read those indexes, the sample method didn't work 
for me either..
