[mrtg] Plotting ICMP

I'm a new user of MRTG (2.8.12) and I'm trying to do some plotting of ICMP statistics on a
Livingston router. Traffic plotting works fine but I can't get ICMP queries to work. (BTW this
is on Linux 2.2.x.)

I want to make a counter of total packets that continually increments. If I use the UCD-SNMP
utilities and do the following command, it returns a valid number (ie >0):

snmpget -v 1 1.2.3.4 community icmp.icmpInMsgs.0

But MRTG keeps plotting zero values, and I don't know where it reports errors. If I have a syntax
error in the CFG file, it will report that on the command-line, but I see no errors when I run
it for this target. (looked in syslog too)

Any insight appreciated!

Here is the CFG file:

WorkDir: /home/httpd/html/stats/mrtg
WriteExpires: yes

LoadMIBs: /usr/share/snmp/mibs/livingston.mib
# This seems to make no difference either way
