I am guessing you are running as daemon.... try doing it via cron. Shouldn't be a problem.

Subject: [mrtg] annoying lockfile - help

Hi all,

I installed mrtg, got it configured and working, I get results, and
should be happy. However for some reason it thinks there is another mrtg
or a lock file. I can't find it and of course I get a message from root
every 5 mintues telling me that there is a lock file.
this is what I get..

ERROR: I guess another mrtg is running. A lockfile
(/home/httpd/html/mrtg/mrtg.cfg_l) aged
0 seconds is hanging around. If you are sure that no other mrtg
is running you can remove the lockfile

what can I do. any help would be appreciated.

Nick
