Not sure what router you are using but we have a Cisco 6500 running 4 VLans on
it and mrtg saw the VLANS just fine. I'm running the latest mrtg by the way.

Subject: [mrtg] how to get VLAN if numbers
Dear All,
I have asked this once, but I didn't find the right solution. Currently we
are monitoring a number of VLAN's. Unfortunately we cannot retrieve the
interface numbers from the router, so we are monitoring the switch port.
THis is not the best. Do you have any idea how can we get the ifnumbers for
these subinterfaces (for example Fastethernet 0/0.1). Or how can we monitor
the traffic on these interfaces.
Thank you
