I had the same results running on NT for any intervals greater than 1 hour.
I also attempted to use the step option without success.

Subject: [mrtg] slow mode

Hi,

I'd like to use MRTG to probe something at a very low rate
once a day, for example. with a crontab entry looking like this :
30 23 * * * mrtg mrtg.cfg

I try to do this, but Mrtg doesn't seem to be able to consolidate
its logfile when the call cycle to `mrtg mrtg.cfg` is longer than
one hour.
the logfile is null (0 everywhere except on the first line corresponding
to the latest mrtg run)

does any body try to do this ?

the Interval option seems to be used only for the html refresh.
and the step option is not clear :
/*
mrtg/doc/config.txt quotation :

Change the default step from 5 * 60 seconds to something else (I have
not tested this well ...)

Example:

 Step[ezwf]: 60

*/
