Looking good.  Now check this from the cron environment, not
from the command prompt, as the PATH setting can be different.

This shouldn't be the problem but IIRC you should not use that
"absolute" setting here.  Use gauge only.

You left out the most important line.  The first line, containing
only three lines, is what MRTG received from the script ...
