[mrtg] Installing CMU-SNMP

Let put this in the newbie box and start with a couple of real basic q's:

1.  Upon installing cmu-snmp (./installconfig -mini <password>) I get an
authkey error. Does anyone know why?
2.  The install instructions say to ensure ELF kernel and ELF lib support
are installed on the system.  Ok, WTF is that? :)

Maybe someone could point me to a how-to so I can stop asking really stupid
questions... :)
