You could set maxbytes to the desired maximum value (and either leave
out absmax or set it to the same).  This is not what was asked for as:
- instead of smoothening the graph you will consider the high rates
  as errors, discarding them
- the averages multiplied with the time lapsed won't equal the data
  transfered anymore.  You are therefore lying to yourself
- the percentages will be wrong as they will be calculated from the
  maxbytes value
