[mrtg] hello everyone .... and a possible bug (?)

I'm a new member to this list so first off i'd like to say hi
to everyone!

well, here's my problem :

Today, we installed version 2.9.4 (2.8.12 was the previous
installed version) and when I fed some configuration files
to mrtg, I noticed a *very* long delay.

I'm using IP address instead of ifindex in target definition
and had no problems whatsoever with version 2.8.12.

Using 2.9.4 takes about 7x the time it took 2.8.12 .
I've tried small-medium and large conf files.
  
  On the other hand when I tried 2.9.4 with ifindex in
  target definition instead of the IP address, there
  was no delay!
    
    Any suggestions will be highly appreciated
