Well excuse me but IMVHO this list is for discussions on MRTG related
stuff. While on the balance of being off topic, this discussion is
related to mrtg. It is (just) on topic. Shouting "reply or remove me"
is *not* the reason of this list; this is what fired of this discussion.

Calling this "petty crap" as you name it "stupid stuff", can be considered
improper behaviour.

Let me assure the reader that I do not even bother to act upon first time
posters asking "how can I ..." other than replying RTFM. I may even point
them to the right place if my current mind set is able to do so and time
permitting.

Being given the task of carefully judging improper behaviour is something
I do not take lightly. It is a big responsability and believe it or not,
but I do not even like it. However, it is necessary and I consider it my
contribution to the MRTG community. If done properly, it will help the
list and its members.

If I read something like
 >> I answered your question at 9:03 PM CST on 9/28/00. RTFM or read
 >> your damn mail!! Read the instructions to remove yourself; it's your
 >> job.
and feel like answering with
 >ditto.
something's wrong. In that case I'm somehow unable to parse or even see
the word "damn" and I *will* consult my collegue guardian about the real
problem namely the user who thinks (s)he can shout at the "Dear list".

If someone doesn't understand the answer, a "please explain again" would
be nice. If someone doesn't get an answer, why not simply ask if there's
anyone seeing the question or replying to it. I've asked twice or more
times if there was something wrong with the list. On one occasion, there
was a holiday and therefore there was no traffic. On another occasion,
something was broken on the list. In both cases, I got several replies
because I *asked* in stead of *demanded*.
