[mrtg] Threshold monitoring

Is there a way to determine what values mrtg is reporting back?  I am trying
to monitor isdn lines, when they come up, to send an e-mail.  I'm trying to
figure out what to set my ThreshMax(I or O) to determine when a line has
come up.  Any suggestions?
