You should check out Denika Performance Trender. This tool allows you to
configure and manage MRTG from a web browser. It also includes hundreds of
templates (MRTG fragments). www.somix.com

there is a product called netbotz (http://www.netbotz.com) which does
what you are asking.  They claim SNMP support, so I'm sure it would be
easy to MRTG a config.
