I too am using the Compaq MIBS and getting good results in testing. I am
ramping up to monitor 30 servers. However, on 3 servers, the data drive
(E:\) does not have a result of disk size or free space. It shows up that
way using the Insight Manager or some other utilities. Any thoughts?

I used the GetIf MIB browser to find the OIDs and so far all of
my
Compaq servers have returned the correct memory values. Another note on
the
memory OIDs, originally I had thought that the physical memory and the
paging memory were exactly as they sounded, but the paging memory OIDs
are
actually the physical memory + the paging memory. Therefore, I mainly
use
the paging memory OIDs to track my memory usage (This is the OID that is
used on the Integrated Management Displays for % Mem Utilization on
Compaq
Servers). I guess the physical memory OIDs are useful for knowing when
to
add more physical memory to your servers.
What type of Compaq server(s) are you using, and what version of
SmartStart do you have loaded (I have it working with 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9)?

Thanks, John!
I actually printed have your posting from 10 Oct where you listed these
OIDs
sitting on my desk.
I have been able to get the CPU Util and % Disk Spaces Used from our
Compaq
Insight Manager agents. But the Physical Memory values don't return.
Reading
Compaq's MIB it says:
DESCRIPTION "Available paging memory (in megabytes).
A -1 will be returned if this value could not be
determined."
I guess on my boxes, the value could not be determined.
Was there anything you had to do to get those values? Any suggestions on
how
I should hold my mouth <G>?
