[mrtg] Re: snmpwalk vs Getif

Jim,

	What OIDs are you looking for, I have a few of the important ones
from the Compaq MIBs (posted earlier).  Also, on the SmartStart Management
CD you can find the Compaq MIBS and a readme file.  I also used GetIf, but I
didn't have a problem.  Did you load the Compaq MIB files into your GetIf
MIB directory and change their extenstion to 'txt'?

I am running 30 Compaq Server (with NT and 2000) and found Getif shows the
data but doesn't show the entire OID.  Go Figure....

I am still trying to figure out the pattern so I cannot tell you what is
missing.  I am begining to get them to work however.

I have not used SNMPWALK

I am working on monitoring a group of Novell servers running on Compaq
hardware.  I use getif on Win98 to browse the MIBs to find the OID I
want, but then am not able to get any information via MRTG.  When I try
to walk the MIB manually with snmpwalk, no data is returned.  

Any ideas why it works with Getif and not with snmpwalk?  Is it a
difference between Win98 and Linux?
