It should mean non-breaking space. It is HTML code to force a space.
Without it some browsers would squeeze the text together and make it look
bad and sometimes unreadable.

I understand that they have _something_ to do with the generate legends in

HTML pages, but i don't understand what " Out:" means, in a place I
thought I would put static text.
