[mrtg] Interface Index Independence

Hi.
	I've seen that mrtg conf. can be made Int. Index safe by using
IP adresses, Ether addresses, and the like.

But. There is a problem. If I have an OID that encompasses an Interface
Index
how can I teach MRTG to be a good boy, lookup the index and then fill it in?

1.3.6.1.2.3.4.X (X is the Interface Index) is ok, because I can say
something
like :

Target[blah]:1.3.6.1.2.3.4/1.2.3.4&1.3.6.1.2.3.5/1.2.3.4:public at myrouter.ro

But what if I want to query an OID that is dependent on interface index but
it goes further... like this one:

 1.3.6.1.2.3.4.X.1.2

It is something like :

Target[blah]:1.3.6.1.2.3.4/1.2.3.4/.1.2&1.3.6.1.2.3.4/1.2.3.4/.1.3:public at my
router.ro ?

p.s. There are interfaces that cannot be made 'index independent' because
there are no
entries for them in the ifIndex table. (PPP interfaces on Linux for
example).
