[mrtg] Re: MRTG through firewall issue

I have a similar problem (I think),
with monitoring interfaces on a Cisco 3620.
The BRI and dialer interfaces come out with nothing,
however the graph for Eth0 is OK.
I've used a standard .cfg-file (cfgmaker).
Unfortunately, I don't know enough about SNMP
to look much further into this.
Don't know whether our problems are related, but if they
are, the FW's shouldn't be the problem, should they? 
(I have a FW between me and the router.)

I have MRTG-2.9.10 running on a RedHat 7.0 test box at the moment and am
evaluating its use on a larger scale. I am monitoring a few Cisco 29xx
switches on the local network and everything is fine. However, I am having
difficulties with some more Cisco 29xx on a remote network as MRTG correctly
shows the hostname and uptime but not the traffic stats (the stats show 0
B/s in and out and the log files don't have any traffic stats in them). All
of the switches are running IOS 12 and the mtrg.cfg file is largely using
default values.
Between the MRTG host and the remote switches are two firewalls and I'm
wondering if these are causing the problems. I have opened ports UDP/161 and
TCP/161 on them... do I need to open any more (such as UDP/1161 and
TCP/1161)?
