Try to use the UCD-SNMP agent from http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/ .This
should give you what you are after.

Subject: [mrtg] Using MRTG to Monitor Linux Host

I'd like to use MRTG to monitor my MRTG server statistics, CPU utilization,
Disk Space, Network Usage, Memory, etc. However when I run SNMPWALK against
my RedHat 7.0 server, I get a few sysDescr type entries. Apparently the
baseSNMP agent/mib isn't very extensive. Has anyone ever successfully
accomplished this?
