Also look into the --filter indexmaker option.  Just filter each ip into a
different index file.

You raise a couple of issues in your post;  I will address the first one.

indexmaker is just a perl program that reads a text file (your .cfg file)
and creates output based on what it finds in that file.  If you know a
little bit of html, indexmaker is very easy to modify to create different
style indices.  I did that, and I didn't know anything about perl when I
started.  (Just make sure you make a backup of your original indexmaker
first. ;) )

If you really don't like what the existing indexmaker does, it's not that
hard to write your own from scratch, either.

This is why mrtg is so much better than the so-called "enterprise"
solutions.  You have access to the "guts" of the program and you can make it
do whatever and look however you want.
