There is an option of 'unknaszero'. See the reference manual for details.

I'm monitoring modem's on a PortMaster.
When the moden is not up(active), MRTG just remember the last data that was
gathered.
So I get an straight line in my graphs.
Is there a way to tell MRTG, that when a modem is inactive, the data should
be zero?
