[mrtg] rateup

Hii guys,

i run mrtg 2.9.6 on redhat6.2... is there any way by which i can manually
add up lines to my interface log files... i have a particular interface on a
router which was initialised on 16th april and for some reason i want to
show that it was active from 28th march... i was thinking if i can manually
edit the log files and show usage starting from 28th march... i tried to do
that but rateup command trimmed all the values that i had pasted and
restored the old log file...
