As far as the programs are concerned, I'm not sure. It really depends on
how many separate instances you are running. If you break out all your
monitoring into separate cfgs, you will see a big performance hit. I
switched from firedaemon to MR daemon in order to run a single batch file
that calls all the cfg files and I saw a dramatic performance increase.
I'm sure I could have done something similar with firedaemon (which I think
is an excellent program), but I chose to use MR daemon instead. Like many
other network related issues, it is a judgment call.
