You write "intermittent success".  If it is intermittent on a single
device then obviously it is a bug.  Report it to Cisco and/or upgrade.

If you mean: one device knows about it and another does not, then it
may help to see if an upgrade helps.  Not every IOS will know about
the new MIB right away.

Also, perhaps you may need to use SNMPv2.

Maybe the faq can help.  Today I added a link in the links section
pointing to a site created by Joe Clarke (AKA Marcus).  This site
contains cisco information.  Click on "Cisco related MIB search"
to get there.
