It will do because you don't have GAUGE in your options.

Without the GAUGE option MRTG will monitor the difference from the previous
poll, GAUGE will plot the same value that's returned and the values will
just keep getting bigger and bigger over time.

A big green bar on the graph doesn't look as informative as a spike.

Check out one of my graphs.

Make a copy on the error config and add the GAUGE option to one of them and
see the difference, you will have to put a high MaxBytes setting to the
config with the GAUGE option added.

Hello,

My first time posting to the list . . .

I have tried everything to produce a graph of interface errors for a Cisco
router, and it only seems to work if I use the gauge option (which shows all
the historical data).

However, I would like to just graph the errors as they occur over time.

I have tried the "* 300" multiplier after the target without the gauge
option, - and sometimes I see a current spike on the graph when I generate
an error on the line, but then it disapears after the next 5min interval.

Any ideas?
