If you are permitting traffic through your linux firewall
(ipchains/iptables) then you should be able to monitor it just fine with
mrtg. MRTG really doesn't care about firewalls. If you are allowing
web, mail or whatever traffic through then MRTG can report what's going on.
If you are filtering those services (web, mail and so on) then your
outta luck as MRTG wasn't designed to overcome security.
