Total - Target[target_name]:
ifInOctets.interface_id&ifInOctets.interface_id:community_string at ip_address
+
ifInOctets.interface_id&ifInOctets.interface_id:community_string at ip_address

All one line - note there are 2 spaces before and after the + sign.

Inbound only - Target[target_name]:
ifInOctets.interface_id&ifInOctets.interface_id:community_string at ip_address

Outbound only - Target[target_name]:
ifOutOctets.interface_id&ifOutOctets.interface_id:community_string at ip_addres

I'm newbie in mrtg... i want ask some question:
1. i want monitoring total traffic (total traffic = incoming taffic + 
outgoing taffic) from my router. Can i do that? if yes, how to do that?
2. i want separate incoming traffic and outgoing traffic, and make two
graphs 
from it. can i do that? if possible, how to do that?
